News for Monday July 21

Well, it comes as no surprise that the U.S. Justice Department basically represented Insurance Companies (.High Court Limits Patient Suits Vs HMOs), and the right-wing lacky, Clarence Thomas, wrote the opinion. Basically, it says the HMO’s can deny you treatments recommended by your doctor (in one case, an Insurance Company nurse overruled the doctor’s recommendation), make you take different drugs (because of course they know you better than your doctor), and they don’t have to be held accountable. Once again, a big hardy thanks to the Bush/Ashcroft Justice Deparment for looking after the interest of their big business contributors.

Now?Bush says he never said there was a direct connection between Iraq and the 9/11 attack, yet he actually did in his required "determination" sent to Congress and referenced here previously (Curious George).?The blatant ignoring of laws just goes on and on.
