Senate Candidate Wants to Stop Voting for Senators

Well, the latest Senate Candidate from IL, Alan Keyes, along with saying that Barack Obama isn’t black enough, is also suggesting that Senators no longer be elected by popular vote. He thinks we should go back to pre-1913, when Senators were elected by state legislatures.

Interesting on two counts. One, he says that, yet he’s running under the systems he wants to end.

Second, and most interesting I think, would Keyes like to turn back the clock to pre-1913 on everything?

Now there’s a tried and true republican strategy for you. Bush managed to pull it off for the Presidency, and get daddy’s cronies on the Supreme Court to appoint him. Might as well.
