In Other News From Centuries Past

Bank Robber and Grace

Last night on Hardball, Jerry Falwell chimed in on the "controversial" television ads put out (and rejected by the networks) by the United Church of Christ.

His take is that the ads are fine and should air. Except for one thing. He explained that the ad’s video sends a message of inclusion to Latinos, Blacks and gays. Falwell’s problem is that the ad therefore suggests that gay people are positioned – like the other groups – as a minority born into their sect, instead of a group that chooses a promiscuous and evil behavior.

He then went on to compare homosexuality to acts such as pedophilia and bank robbery.

Meanwhile in other news from centuries past, a lawmaker out of Cottondale Alabama is pushing legislation that would ban novels with gay characters from public and university libraries. Rep. Gerald Allen explains: "Our culture, how we know it today, is under attack from every angle."

A truer statement has never been uttered by such a moronic person.
