New Business Speak

I have mostly refrained from posting here about my work, as it tends to get bloggers in trouble, but I just could not pass on posting something about a quote from a senior vice-president of the company.

The company I work for is undergoing a lot of changes, and it is certainly no longer the organization it was a couple of years ago. I will forego a long explanation, but suffice it say, its not getting better. Consequently, a number of key people are now leaving. Several of those resignations happened last week.

The response of the SVP of Operations was to say, "Resignations allow us to materially upgrade our capabilities."

I’d say that is business speak for, "please, all of you, leave now so we may hire people smarter than you." Nice to be loved, huh?
