Looks like Bill Frist will have to make new plans for August 14: after the senatorÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s surprising announcement that he would support increased federal funding for stem cell research, organizers of a Christian judicial rally decided not to invite him to their mid-August event. Frist spoke to the first session of the rally, Ã¢â‚¬Å“Justice Sunday,Ã¢â‚¬Â held in April. But organizer Tony Perkins said FristÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s stem cell position “reflects an unwise and unnecessary choice both for public policy and for respecting the dignity of human life,” and withheld a second invite. So who did they find instead? None other than Tom DeLay. HeÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s “a natural fit” for the rally, said Perkins. Maybe he hasnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t heard aboutÃ‚Â DeLayÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s little ethics problem.
