Brokeback and The Oscars

Good grief, every where I turn I’m seeing headlines about Brokeback Mountain not getting the Oscar for best picture as some sort of statement about Hollywood dissing the gay film. Could it be that Crash was actually a better film?

There was some serious competition this year. We saw all the Oscar contenders. Capote was kind of annoying (the character), but the movie was well done. You have to know that Good Night And Good Luck was an important film. Crash had a great ensemble cast, well done multiple story lines, and a good finish.

Brokeback Mountain was a beautiful film, and the characters were great. However, a few of the scenes didn’t seem to tie together perfectly. It was certainly the best gay film ever,?and the three Oscar’s the film received were well deserved. I don’t think three Oscars make a film a loser.
