When you cease to make a contribution you begin to die.??? –Eleanor Roosevelt
I guess the old adage of “use it or lose it” can be part of what Mrs. Roosevelt is talking about, but that can just mean getting in your walk each day. I think, based on her life of service and social responsibility, Eleanor was reminding us that we have to do something that makes the world better.
This is a challenge here. The definition of contributing is, to give or supply in common with others.” This seems to intimate a message of working in community with others to bring about a greater good.
