Georgia Republican Congressman-Full Work Week too Much

Photo of Rep. Jack KingstonSo many instances where it’s hard to distinguish the real news from the stuff that shows up in The Onion. From the Post, new Congress to shelve old two day work week for a five day work week. No, not makin’ this up.

Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) — one of the worst from the old GOP Congress — on why working for a living is against family values: “Keeping us up here eats away at families. Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families — that’s what this says.”

Good grief! So now, expecting our elected representatives to work five days a week is a moral issue. Hey buddy, I wish five days a week was ALL I had to work. No one made you run for Congress, so if it’s just too much of a burden, take a hike. Ever think about what the war you voted for is doing to military families, where one or more members are deployed for a year multiple times? I’ll bet the soldiers coming home in body bags would be glad to work a five day work week, as would their families.

You are pissing up a tree if you think I care that you might have to work a few more hours next year. I’m having a hard time getting that fiddle to play.
