Baggage Handling at Tampa Airport

The Tampa Tribune is reporting that airport police have arrested three baggage handlers from Delta Global Services (contracted to handle Continental Airlines baggage) at TIA. It seems they had quite the little theft ring going stealing all sorts of electronics and sunglasses.

Airport police put a laptop with tracing software in baggage checked to Houston. The laptop didn’t make it, and was used to access a Myspace page within about two days, and was then used several more times. The lady that was in possession of it had purchased it for $350.00.

An arrest report said one of the men told investigators he bought laptops for $60, iPods for $10 and digital cameras for $50.The electronics that were seized include six laptop computers, nine digital cameras and three cell phones. Police also recovered nine pairs of sunglasses.

The report says investigators are trying to contact the owners of the items.
