Days of Our Lives – June 6, 2009

I’m gonna start a new series of trying to pay more attention to the things of note that go on around me. We’ll call it “Days of Our Lives”

We’ll start this sort of fun story. Last week I went to the post office to mail something for Lay. There were was a little bit of a line, and three people working the Post Office counter. One lady finished and called for the next person. I little old man started shuffling his way toward here, cane and all. He was moving so slow, and was so short, the lady didn’t see him. She called out again, and the man said…I’m on the way…fast as I can.

When he got up there, he asked for 400 “forever” stamps (the ones that will always work for a first class letter). I turned to the lady behind me and said, “Would it be awful of me to think that’s a lot of stamps for a man his age…I wouldn’t even buy green bananas at his age?” She laughed and said, “I was thinking the same thing.”
