DOUCHES_1Well, again, it just makes sense to give the award to a group, since they are conspiring together to return North Carolina to the 1800s. It seems that something was finally found to put the fear of God into the members of the North Carolina General Assembly about HB2…the NBA. Never mind jobs, reputation, economic growth…no, the threat of losing the All-star game brought them around…sort of. So  here’s to you Tim Moore, Pat McCrory and Phil Berger…you’re all Douche Bags.

What they have held a secret meeting to come up with is a change to HB2. They think a tweak will give the NBA cover to not more the game, and maybe this has even been negotiated with the NBA in advance. Let’s hope that the NBA isn’t stupid enough to have fallen for this papers to pee scam. Continue reading »

I’ve previously written about the debunking of the “Good Guy with a Gun” idea that ammosexuals are constantly advancing. In this article, I’d like to write about the other idea they lean on for their justification, the violent overthrow of the federal government.

I hear this often accompanying the Facebook memes about gun control. There’s this idea that bubbles around with these folks that if they just have enough people with enough guns they can “take back our government.” My big question to them recently has been who and when. I’ll elaborate on that, but first we need to take a look at the Second Amendment.

There are several versions of the text of the Second Amendment, each with capitalization or punctuation differences. Differences exist between the drafted and ratified copies, the signed copies on display, and various published transcriptions. The importance (or lack thereof) of these differences has been the source of debate over the meaning and interpretation of the amendment, particularly regarding the importance of the prefatory clause. Hillsborough County Commissioner, Stacy White (R-Asshole)

Hillsborough County Commissioner, Stacy White (R-Asshole)

This one is interesting I know, but they are all three of the same situation…if it really is three. Let me explain. Last week, Hillsborough, FL, County Commissioner and conservative firebrand, Stacy White (who I will note claims to be a Methodist), supposedly got a report of an anonymous employee who found flying the Rainbow Flag in memory and honor of the victims in Orlando created a hostile work environment for her. White was quick to call the flag a, “divisive, politically-charged symbol.”

White didn’t attend the last meeting of the Commission where the display was voted on, so I guess his particular brand of Christianity was left out of the discussion, and he was feeling all butt-hurt. I’ll prove that with the internal memo he sent around about the issue. So, we have a three-way tie on this one. Commissioner Stacy White, his condescending and dishonest legislative assistant, David Garcia, and the supposedly anonymous Hillsborough County Employee.

And just to set the stage, Ybor City Stogie describes Stacy White this way: Continue reading »

Little Marco Rubio at the 2014 NRA Convention

Little Marco Rubio at the 2014 NRA Convention

We supposedly have a representative form of government, carrying out the will of the people. Nearly 90% of Americans are in favor of increased background checks and prohibiting terrorists from buying guns. But I guess 90% isn’t representative enough for Republicans. This being the result of votes on 4 gun control measures in the U.S. Senate last night.

Little Marco Rubio’s vote cost the NRA $4,950.00. That’s right, Rubio sold his vote to the NRA for just under $5,000.  That’s the contribution he got from the NRA in campaign contributions.

Let’s do some math, shall we? Let’s take Marco’s price tag for his vote, $4,950.00, and let’s divide it by 49. In case you don’t know the importance of that number, it’s the number killed in the Orlando Massacre by a person known to the FBI to have made terrorist threats, but who was still able to buy a high-powered, high-capacity, rapid-firing military grade weapon, and tons of ammunition…legally. And the result of that calculation? $101.02. Continue reading »

DOUCHES_1Let it never be said that NRA Chief, Wayne LaPierre, let a gun massacre go by without encouraging the sell of even more guns. Yes folks, this douche-bag, just a week from the worst gun massacre is out selling the false narrative (debunked here) that this was a terrorist attack, and they are coming for you, so you’d better buy more guns.

In the wake of the massacre at Pulse night club in Orlando, National Rifle Association (NRA) Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre argued on CBS’s Face The Nation Sunday that American families should arm themselves because terrorists were “on the verge of overwhelming us.” Continue reading »

DOUCHES_1Should come as no surprise that Pat Robertson couldn’t pass up the Orlando Massacre as an opportunity to spill some of his hateful bile around the TV.  Layering a Muslim, trying to claim he was a terrorist, on top of a massacre of LGBT young people on top of Trump’s America, and it’s hard not to have a “Christian Leader” each day as the douche-bag of the day. Some Republicans are vying for the honor, but since it’s Sunday, let’s go with religion, and so, for thinking Muslims and Gays should be left alone to kill each other, here’s our Douche-bag of the Day Award for Pat Robertson.

Robertson, with his long record of comments against Muslims and homosexuals (who can forget the AIDS rings comments), who he believes are abominations to humanity, appears to be trying to top himself by commenting on the Orlando shootings. Roberson believes that liberal LGBT activists allied themselves with Muslims and are now reaping what they sowed. Here’s what he said: Continue reading »

DOUCHES_1There’s plenty of bile bubbling up out of the bowels of fundamentalist Christianity in the west over the shooting in Orlando. We’ve cited some of it here, and I’m sure we’ll be calling out more. Some is not so directly hateful, but comes from mainline church people, who think simply claiming they love everyone…but….(there’s always that qualifier) absolves them of any contribution to the hate leveled at the LGBT community. I promise we will get to some of those.

In the meantime, clearly, one of the most hateful is Roger Jiminez of Sacramento, California’s Verity Baptist Church. Jiminez has said:

“As a Christian, we shouldn’t be mourning the death of 50 sodomites. Let me go ahead and start right there. As a Christian, we shouldn’t be sad or upset…The bible does teach that homosexuality deserves the death penalty,” he said, admitting he has no regrets for his sermon. “Leviticus 20:13 says that if a man lie with mankind like he does with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination and will surely be put to death. Romans 1 says that they which commit such things are worthy of death…”

He tried to explain his theology by saying, “if people die who deserve to die, we don’t need to be mourning that.”

As is too often the case, he wants to include the old escape clause of, “but I’m not encouraging anyone to commit violence.” I’ve had this same argument in a United Methodist Conservative discussion group. I know they know that people who might be predisposed to violence against LGBT people, and who might be immature in their biblical understanding (which is most western Christians), can lead them to believe that killing LGBT people is a righteous act.

So, for maybe giving the most hateful sermon on the very day of the massacre, we’re going to give Jiminez our Daily Douche-bag award.

Franklin Graham

Right now, it’s pretty hard to decide who to give our Douche-bag of the Day Award. There are just so many people vying for the honor, with lots of pastors leading the pack. Some awful things have been said in “Jesus’ name,” and we’ll get to those, but I decided to pull out Franklin Graham from that deck first.

Graham has one of the largest followings, and his secretary, who I spoke with, assured me she knows his heart, and he doesn’t hate anyone. I told her I knew his heart too, and it was full of either greed or hate (maybe both), and that I wanted him to stop claiming he was a Christian, in that it made the rest of look bad. That people like him have worked hard to make embarrassing to say you’re a Christian. Continue reading »

Tony Perkins, head of SPLC designated Hate Group, The FRCI’m guessing it wouldn’t be hard to find a reason to just give this award to Tony just about everyday, but it is only fair to spread the love around. Sometimes though, you just have to go with it. So, for blaming the Orlando Massacre on Obama, and Islamic Terrorism, we are proud to announce that today’s Daily Douche-Bag Award goes to Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council (FRC).

Just to be clear, I like to remind folks that the FRC was founded by Perkins and Jame Dobson (Dobson provided most of the seed money), after Perkins illegally used funds from a campaign he managed (he was convicted of this) to buy a mailing list from KKK Grand Wizard, David Duke. In the early days, Perkins was a frequent speaker at meetings of White Supremacist groups. There are pictures with the Confederate Flag right there in the background. And, the SPLC has designated the FRC a Hate Group.

But, on to Perkins latest shenanigans. On Monday, he issued a press release claiming:

Unfortunately, the attacks on U.S. soil have only grown in this administration’s refusal to call them what they are — Islamic terrorism. The gunman, a homegrown extremist who reportedly pledged his allegiance to ISIS before his bloody rampage, left little doubt about his motivation — a motivation the president still refuses to confront.

Of course, we know that to be false. The guy doing the shooting wasn’t even religious enough to know which branch of Islam he was fighting for. He basically pledged allegiance to two diametrically opposed groups, Shi’a Hezbollah and Sunni ISIS. It also turns out he was mostly just a closeted homosexual, exhibiting the worst of the things that manifest themselves when one does that. The only thing different is that he could easily and legally get a high-capacity, rapid-firing military grade gun to go along with his internal rage. Are there radical Islamists who would like to do us harm? Certainly. But this guy wasn’t one of them, so why would the President say he was? Oh right, because Tony needs an enemy, and it’s getting harder to use gay people for that.

Perkins’ press release goes on to claim:

Perhaps the saddest irony of all is that this is a conflict of the president’s own making. By coddling and promoting Islam, the Obama administration has created an environment where people who identify as gay, lesbian, or transgendered are increasingly vulnerable. “If I were a member of the LGBT community,” Leon Wolf wrote on RedState, “I would be watching the Left with an extremely jaundiced eye from this day forward.

Uh yeah, and I’ve got some good solid dry land down in South Florida to sell you too. Democrats and Obama are creating an environment where LGBT people aren’t safe. Oh Tony, Ms Perkins, please see “North Carolina Republican Controlled General Assembly and HB2.” Also be sure to check out the latest hits of Pam “Barbie” Bondi-Trump, and Rick “I don’t Recall” Scott.

So, for his bold lies and misdirection, Tony Perkins is our Douche-Bag of the Day.
