I’ll be Home For Christmas »

One of the traditions that has developed is attending a Christmas Eve service of Lessons and Carols, followed by Communion and a candlelight service. Both services at the church were very full, with people in the balcony during the first service. It’s a time and place to feel comfortable. While there are many people there I don’t know, there are certainly lots of people I grew up with, and even older folks that helped me grow up.

First Weekend of December 2006 »

This was not the most fun weekend. I got really sick with a cold Thursday night, and it’s stuck with me the whole weekend. I did get a few chores taken care of.

Wrapping up Thanksgiving 2006 »

We had a pretty typical Thanksgiving. As I’ve already reported, I drove to North Carolina last Monday, and then met friends up in Boone/Blowing Rock on Tuesday. Wednesday I stuck close to home and spent the day with Mom, and had dinner with her and some of her friends. It was overcast and rainy most of the day Wednesday.

Update on July 17, 2006 »

As you may have noticed, there have not been a lot posts over the past couple of weeks. For the past three weeks, I’ve been on very tight deadlines with a bunch of very large proposals. For the first pay period of July, I’d put 110 hours on the time sheet. That’s two weeks, and I probably didn’t record all the time.

Life in Abundance »

It is when we have loved greatly that our life is abundant. What does that mean. To me it implies passion. Not just passion for another person, that special someone, although that may be part of it. But it also means a great love for life and all the people that are part of our life…a passion for life if you will.

2006 Pool Season Off To a Big Start »

Well, the water temp was still in the 70s, but Lay’s nephews insisted on coming swimming yesterday (Good Friday). I’ve had the solar panels on, but the nights are cool enough that a lot of the warmth is lost. I should have put the solor cover on the pool last week, but that thing is [...]

Blog Upgrades »

I ran through the upgrade process on my Mother’s blog. That went very well, but I was holding my breath as I upgraded the Deep Something blog. It is a significantly more complex site. However, the upgrade went very smoothly. There are one or two minor problems that will have to be corrected. I think I know how to resolve these fairly quickly tomorrow. There is a file uploader that I use for the photo gallery that isn’t working, so I’ll have to do some research on that. There is an option to it using the Flickr photo system, and there are plugins for that too.
