When I first heard about this film, I got really excited and couldn’t wait to see it. From the previews, it looked really good, but the film was not so great. I still watch it and like it, sort of, because it is “fresh” and not so ancient like the Connery movies (not to put them down; most of those are my favorites). A new Bond fan or one who has not seen many other Bond movies may like this, but I have seen many older movies and I know what the original and real Bond would be like. It seems as if the producers are trying too hard to make it “for our times”, but they were fine as they were. I don’t want to put down Brosnan’s acting either, because I am a REAL big fan of his and I have loved his previous three Bond Films. But, this one is different. They concentrate more on fake CG action than what really makes a bond film.
Another thing that bothered me was Halle Berry’s role. There was so much on how she was “Bond’s match”, when her but was saved by bond dozens of times and almost got bond killed. I would rate this film at about 2.5 out of 10. It just doesn’t feel like a real Bond movie. I also hope Brosnan returns for more Bond films!
