Pat Robertson Hates The Constitution

Juan Cole remarks that Pat Robertson has some unAmerican ideas when he declares only Christians should be allowed to be appointed judges. Indeed, as Cole shows Thomas Jefferson was explicit in his judgment that non-Christians would be equals in the government. In fact, Article 6.3 of the Constitution has this quaint line about who can serve in government:

Clause 3: The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

Why does Pat Robertson hate the Constitution?

It’s your turn now.

Thanks to Bob Stone for his comment. The guy really is scary, but scary most because so many people listen to him as if he were infallible.
