Benham Bros – Douche Bags of the Day

I suppose it will come as no surprise to anyone that these two will wind up with multiple DBoTD awards. Along with a number of other fundamentalist nut-jobs, these two are blaming Irma and 9/11 on LGBT people.

In their video, the bothers, in discussing 9/11, had this to say, “One of the things we heard a lot 16 years ago was rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, but one of the words we didn’t hear was repent.” “As a nation,” they continue, “if you would have told us back then, in 2001, that in 2017 we would be completely redefining what gender means, what marriage means, what sexuality means … I would’ve–I would’ve said, ‘there’s no way that would happen in this country!’” 

So, just to be clear, at 5PM on the Saturday before it was due to come through Tampa, the image below in a zoom-in of the track. See, the blue line…that’s the projected track. See the gray line representing Lawn Avenue? Notice where they intersect…that is exactly my house. I don’t mean, “that’s my neighborhood,” I mean that is exactly where my house sits. And remember, at that time, it was forecast to be a Category 3 or maybe 4 as it came through.

Now, I’ll admit to having done some pretty stupid things in my life, but if I have control over hurricanes, do you think I’d be stupid enough to target my house? Seriously, if I had that kind of power, I’d wait until the Florida and North Carolina legislatures were in session, and drop an off the scale tornado on top of their Capital Buildings, but that’s just me.

And while these two turds don’t bring up Harvey, let’s just remember it hit the state with the most ultra-conservative legislature in the country. Those guys worship a God with a pretty piss poor aim if you ask me.
