FDLE Serves as Rick Scott’s Personal Goon Squad in Election
With all the votes now being counted, Rick Scott is seeing his lead slipping away in his race for U.S. Senate, and so, as any good Republican would do, he sued to try to keep from counting all the votes. Scott has apparently ordered the FDLE to investigate the Broward County Elections Office mostly because they are now counting all the ballots.
As you might guess, there appears to be some fuckery going on with some ballots. In Broward County, Senate under-votes appear on nearly 4 percent of all ballots. That means the ballots do not include a vote for U.S. Senate, despite votes being cast in other races. What makes the anomaly even stranger is that it appeared in a county in which Democratic incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum desperately needed to score well.
In fact, more people voted in the cabinet races than they did in the U.S. Senate race. In the entire state, there were 35,155 senate under-votes. That means there were 24,763 Senate under-votes in Broward County and just 10,392 Senate under-votes in Florida’s 66 other counties. A recount could reveal a reading error in one or more voting machines, which could explain it.
So, it would seem reasonable to canvassing board to review those ballots. But of course, Republicans have started a near riot outside the Broward County Election Board offices, as they did back in 2000, and Scotts is ordering in armed law enforcement…not to control the riot, but to intimidate the Broward County Election Officials.
Last night Scott actually said this …
“Late Tuesday night our win was projected about 57,000 votes. By Wednesday morning that lead dropped to 38,000 votes. By Wednesday evening, it was around 30,000 votes. This morning, it was around 21,000. Now, it is 15,000,.”
And then this.
“Every Floridan should be concerned that their could be rampant fraud happening in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.”
If there’s fraud happening in Broward County, then it favors him, and he would not want those ballots reviewed nor counted if they should be. The giveaway is Scott claiming someone else is committing rampant fraud. The prime directive of the Republican party has become, “If you’re up to no good, point to someone else and claim they’re doing what you’re actually doing.” So I know, whenever a Republican claims someone else is committing voter fraud, you can count on the fact, it’s actually them.
So, since we haven’t given out a Douche Bag of The Day Award in a while, let’s make it a joint one. Rick Scott, and since the FDLE Public Information Office hasn’t bothered to return my calls, they get a stake in it too.
