Hurricane Watch II-11:30 a.m. Monday

Thus far, we have survived. We have lots of sticks down, and only a couple of decent sized limbs in the yard. Along Bay Shore Blvd. and downtown there is some extensive flooding. We got a big storm surge today. We have faired pretty well as regards water.

The power finally went out in the neighborhood about 2:30 a.m. this morning. We are still having gusty winds and rain, so I’m expecting it to take a while before they are able to get power restored. They are just now starting to get repair trucks on the road, and they can only put up the cherry pickers during lulls. It won’t surprise me if its tomorrow before we get power. All things considered though, we have faired okay.

Now we have to start watching out for Ivan.
