Where Is Colin Going?

You will recall a previous discussion here about what might be motivating John McCain’s support of Bush, unenthusiastic as its been. Now there’s word that Colin Powell will most likely be moving on even if Bush steals another election.

Can you blame the guy? Reports indicate he’s told friends of his disappointment and embarassment about having made the Administration’s case for war to the U.N. I can certainly understand that, as we’ve discussed that fiasco here as well.

One has to take responsibility for his own actions, so its hard to feel sorry for anyone that would associate themselves with this Administration, but he did. Despite the need for him to be responsible, it is sort of a shame. Collin Powell, had he played his cards correct, probably had a respectable chance of becoming President himself someday. Too bad he hitched his horse to the Bush wagon.
