A Rambling Blog
I don’t get a ton of traffic on this site, and have always been disappointed with the lack of comments. I get a few, but I know I have opinionated friends, and would expect a little more from them. I suspect one of the reasons is that this blog is so far ranging in the topics I write about.
I’ve read some good articles lately on blogging, and most say to narrow the focus of your blog. The people writing these articles do have very widely read blogs, so one must give them their props. I can’t say I disagree with them, but one of the things I notice is that most of them maintain multiple blogs, and each blog is for a different topic. So, like me, they write on a wide range of topics, but do so on a multitude of blogs.   ÂÂ
Now I enjoy tinkering with Deep Sand. If you’ve visited here for any length of time, you already know that. And a look at the list of plugins used on the Deep Technology page will serve as testimony to that. But I don’t think I have any interest in trying to maintain and contribute to multiple blogs. You see, I write this blog mostly for me. It gives me a place to vent, to solidify ideas and positions, and to practice writing. (I’m not interested in writing the next great novel, but I do like writing, and want to be a better writer. I hope this exercise helps.)
I also think that WordPress provides an excellent taxonomy system through the use of tags and categories, so a person should be able to find whatever they are interested in here on Deep Sand.
So why am I writing a post about what I write about? Well, to introduce a couple of new series that will appear at irregular intervals. I have to travel some for business. I suspect that may get reduced some in the coming economic environment, but I’ll still be out there in the friendly skies from time to time. So, I’m going to review Airports as I visit them, let you know what I think, and give you the opportunity to have your say as well.
Also, don’t forget the current series on Florida’s upcoming Amendment 2, and I’ll probably start a series on the upcoming general election.
