Rep Diane Black Says Pornography Causes School Shootings

Well, so far we’ve been told that the causes of school shootings are video games, abortion, too many doors, Ritalin, and most recently, according to Rep. Diane Black (R-Idiotville), porn. Diane’s decided to run for Governor of Tennessee, but I think the good folks of Tennessee should consider what kind of porn she’s using.

She had a meeting with some local pastors last week, and as you might imagine, the topic of school shootings came up. As usual, a bought and paid for NRA Congressperson (she received at least $7,553 from the NRA in 2015-2016 election cycle) is obligated to blame the escalating carnage on anything but the high-availability of high-capacity guns.

So, she went with “Pornography.” According to Diane “It’s available on the shelf when you walk in the grocery store. Yeah, you have to reach up to get it, but there’s pornography there. All of this is available without parental guidance. I think that is a big part of the root cause.1

The local grocery stores in Tennessee are very different from the ones here in Tampa. Kids couldn’t even buy a Playboy or Penthouse, you’d get carded, and in what stores does she shop where it’s just right there on the shelves within easy reach. Is Diane hitting up the adult bookstores in her home state and confusing them with Publix, or does she just use the ones in D.C.? Besides, who the hell buys porn in the grocery store anyways. You can watch it online and order your toys from Amazon (or so I’ve been told).

But Diane, for becoming yet another of the NRA stooges and blaming gun violence in schools on anything and everything but guns, we’re going to let you have a Douche-bag of the day award. It’s available on the shelf when you walk into the grocery store. You’ll have to reach up to get it, but it’s right there.
