Well, it is generally such an easy and obvious award to make, I’ve tried to avoid making it. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel, it is just too easy. But there were two things recently. The main one being a meeting in the Oval Office in which he starts claiming there are thousands of people already lining for a Dear Leader rally in Pennsylvania, so it would be unfair to cancel that due to a major natural disaster unfolding in the United States.

Gecko Making Phone Calls (Seriously)
According to report in USAToday, “Employees at the Ke Kai Ola Marine Mammal Center in Hawaii were receiving mysterious calls last week. Only it wasn’t a glitch with their phone system. It was caused by a gecko.” Claire Simeone, director of the Marine Mammal Center’s Ke Kai Ola Hawaiian Monk Seal Hospital in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, was just sitting down for lunch when a call came in to her cell from the hospital, but there was only silence.

This is tough to write, as I’m struggling a bit with my feelings concerning Senator John McCain. McCain is being lionized by the media and political pundit class. While I respect his service and many of his accomplishments, he was hardly the maverick he fancied himself, and leaves a mixed political legacy, and ironically, much of the blame for the ascendency of Donald Trump.

Eric Hargan – Kids Aren’t Lost, Just Not Answering the Phone
There was a lot of competition for Douche-bag of the day today, what with Roseanne’s tweet-storm and all, but I’ve elected to award it to Trump’s Health and Human Services Deputy Director Eric Hargan. You may know that the Trump administration has been merrily stripping immigrant children from their parents, and HHS has lost track of about 1,500 of them. U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) told a group of Realtors it should be OK for homeowners to refuse to sell their property to gays and lesbians. “Every homeowner should be able to make a decision not to sell their home to someone (if) they don’t agree with their lifestyle,” Rohrabacher told an Orange County Association of Realtor’s delegation at a May 16 meeting.

Letter to Publix CEO Re Adam Putnam
Florida headquartered Publix Super Markets, has contributed nearly $670k to Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam ($250K of the recently), now the Commissioner of Agriculture. The Tampa Bay Times has recently published an article calling this to the attention of everyone, and Publix’s has been in damage control ever since, issuing the typical PR-written, Lawyer-approved bullshit form letter. I’ve written my own letter in response to the form letter I’ve seen posted all over social media. Let’s see if Publix gets the message.
