The Swiss argument about gun control gets bandied about with some regularity. There’s this claim that “The Swiss require everyone to have a gun,” or “The Swiss government issues everyone a gun.” Except, no they don’t. And as a matter of fact, when you look into gun violence statistics, Switzerland supports the position: “the more guns, the more gun violence.”
Someone I’m friends with on Facebook shared a post by someone I don’t know named, Monica Bailey. The post is one of those with the photo of all the shoes of Jews from one of the death camps. We saw a display of these at the Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg a couple of years ago, and it is heart-wrenching. But, of course nothing is reaching too low for the gun nuts, so that whole pile of shoes is just the result of the Jews giving up their guns to Hitler.
