I previously wrote about the Methodist Church finally taking a stand strongly opposing torture conducted by the U.S. Government, and writing both Bush and Cheney (both claim to be Methodist), and calling on them to end this behavior. But, then the Judicial Council had to issue a series of rulings slamming the door in the face of gay people.

Its always amazed me that the return of Christ to begin his thousand year reign of love and heavan on earth would be heralded by the death and destruction of millions of innocent individuals.

Read moreI have, several times in the past, called on the U.S. Bishops of the United Methodist Church, to write George Bush and denounce the practice of government sponsored torture. To the best of my knowledge, only five have done so. In light of the recent revelations, I am, again, calling on these Christian leaders to denounce toture. I will be much aggressive this time in that I plan to make a phone call to each.
