Ditching Daylight Savings Time in Florida?

It seems that State Senator Bill Posey wants to end Daylight Savings time in Florida. According to him it’s just too much trouble to change all the clocks and watches. Of course, just wait until you have to figure out what time you have a conference call. We have people in Central time, and that gets confusing sometimes. I’m scared to think what it will be like to have a different time than the rest of the east coast.

Wingnuts in North Carolina Just Won't Give Up

The North Carolina wingnuts here will not quit. House Bill 493 is back and the Republicans in the North Carolina General Assembly are trying to bring it to a floor vote next week by using a procedural end-run to recall the anti-gay amendment from the Rules Committee.

2006 Mid-Term Elections

Of course I can’t pass by the 2006 mid-term elections without comment. It was clearly a stunning victory for Democrats, and I can only hope the new Democratic majority will roll back some of the powers granted to the executive branch. Unfortunately, that normally comes very slowly.
