Unfortunately Alan Grayson is not my representative in Congress, but I sure wish he was. I don’t have anything against Cathy Kastor, my current representative, except that she’s the typical milquetoast Democrat. Alan Grayson doesn’t mind speaking truth to power, and he calls out the talibangelist views of his tea bagger opponent in this ad. And this guy has tried to pass some of his extreme religious views into law in Tallahassee. Democrats should take note, this is how the game has to be played for now.

Earlier this week I was sent one of those emails where you check the stuff you’ve done, then send it to a bunch of friends. One of the questions was, “Have you ever seen something so beautiful it took your breath away?” I answered yes. I’ve seen it a couple of times, but in this case, I have to say it is absolute frightening idiocy that takes away my breath. People who have no discernible contact with any version of reality known to most of us, believe they have the answers to what ails America. People who are told what to think by the corporate astro-turfers, and believe a crackpot Mormon convert is the second coming. And they want to take America back…back to where…a happier time. What does that mean?

They do it because they get to try to hide behind press releases, podiums, security and websites. So I’ve decided to call them out. The National Organization for Marriage (NOM), one of the extreme right-wing fringe groups, has what they think is a hip new campaign they called 2M4M. Kind of like the tea-baggers, I’m guessing they didn’t think through the title completely before going public. But that’s just fine, since it gives us all plenty to laugh about. And Joe Sudbay at Americablog has tipped me off to hilarious video by Andy Cobb about the 2M4M initiative by NOM.
